Deadline for abstract submissions 20 November 2020
Deadline for article submissions: 31 March 2021

Following the sad and unexpected death of Professor David MorganFamilies, Relationships and Societies is calling for academic articles for a special issue inspired by his published work. During his long career, he transformed sociological work on family and personal relationships. He is perhaps best known for his conceptualisation of family practices but he also studied and theorised many aspects of family life and relationships, writing commentaries on class and gender, acquaintanceship, biographical method and much more. We are seeking contributions across the range of his work, including new applications, extensions and critiques. Submissions from early-career researchers and researchers from the Global South are particularly welcome.

The special issue will be published in January 2022. Therefore, we are asking for submissions of abstracts by 20 November 2020 and submissions of full articles by 31 March 2021. Articles should be no longer than 8000 words, including; references, tables and footnotes. See our instructions for authors for further guidance. The editorial team for this special issue are Lynn Jamieson, Manik Deepak-Gopniath and Tina Haux. Contributions will go through the usual peer-review process.

If you have any questions regarding the special edition, please don’t hesitate to contact Tina Haux: T.Haux@kent.ac.uk.
