The book cites the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and the AIATSIS Guidelines for Ethical Research in Australian Indigenous Studies, on the advice of an Australian researcher who explained that the Australian National Statement of Support for Indigenous Researchers was out of date and undergoing review. That review is now complete and the new Statement was published in summer 2018, after the book had gone into production. The new Statement outlines the mechanisms the ARC has in place to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers and how that support will be developed through research and other activities in 2018-19. This is based on an evaluation of ARC support for Indigenous researchers and Indigenous research which was conducted in 2017. The Code has also undergone review and the new version was published in June 2018. Now the AIATSIS Guidelines are undergoing review and we will link to the new version here when it is available.
