BUP has won the Independent Academic and Professional Publisher of the Year for 2024
We are thrilled to announce that Bristol University Press has won the Independent Academic and Professional Publisher of the Year for 2024 award. This achievement is a testament to our dedication to excellence, innovation and diversity in publishing.
The panel of judges said: "Bristol has a very clear, mission-led and impact-based publishing strategy with social issues at the core. It’s made some great strides forward lately… and beyond the numbers, its books make a difference."
We have always been proud to combine commercial success with a strong commitment to social and environmental justice and it is the work of our authors, editors and staff that has helped us to achieve this.
Alison Shaw, Chief Executive, said: "Following the success of Policy Press it feels amazing to have built Bristol University Press over the last seven years. This award is down to our team. They are amazing, they are collaborative, they believe in social justice and they work so hard for us to achieve that mission."
The outpouring of congratulations and support from our community has been heartwarming. We are incredibly grateful for this recognition. Thank you to the IPG, our authors, publishing partners and everyone who works, or has worked, with us - this achievement is down to you.
