Criminal Justice and Policing

Our Criminal Justice and Policing list has established itself with a focus on fighting for social justice and social change within the criminal justice system.

Our books in criminal justice showcase the most innovative and dynamic research from the UK and around the world and offer new insights for policy and practice debates happening globally.

Books on the list cover a range of topics but we’re particularly interested in how policing and how the police interact with society, youth crime and justice, future directions for probation services and criminal justice systems around the world.

If you are interested in writing for us, please see the Commissioning Editor information below.

Meet the Editor

Rebecca Tomlinson, Commissioning Editor

After completing a Master’s Degree in Journalism, I got my first job in academic publishing at the Press. Since starting, I’ve had the opportunity to work on some of the most important contributions to the debate on social challenges around the globe.

As the editor for criminology and criminal justice books, I’ve been able to shape the list to include some of the most vital topics effecting the most vulnerable and marginalised groups in our society. It’s a privilege to work with the criminology community, who are all so passionate about the important work they’re doing and I think that shows in the fantastic books we’ve published so far.
