Meet the new editorial team

We are delighted to introduce you to the new editorial team for Families, Relationships and Societies.

"We are an interdisciplinary University of Sheffield-based team whose expertise in families and relationships spans sociology, social policy, social work, childhood and youth studies, criminology, cultural studies, care studies and migration studies. We are excited to be taking on this role. FRS has grown from strength to strength and our ambition is to keep the Journal firmly on this trajectory. We will continue to develop the journal’s profile and number of high-quality submissions, ensuring FRS becomes a first-choice journal in relevant fields. We will ensure the journal maintains a reputation for developing field-defining debates, including through curated Special Issues and themed sections and innovative use of the Open Space section. We are especially committed to further internationalising the journal. We believe ‘internationalisation’ is a practice; something that we will do rather than something that we can be. In doing internationalisation, we will develop meaningful understandings of the barriers faced by researchers in various international contexts and work over time to support submissions and increase readership of scholarship from underrepresented countries. Likewise, we will work to support early career researchers, creating online resources to guide them in preparing their papers and ensuring enhanced and supportive feedback on their submissions.

We are grateful to Esther Dermott, outgoing Editor in Chief, and her team of co-editors, who have done such a fantastic job growing the journal and ensuring it is a primary destination for cutting edge interdisciplinary ideas about families and relationships, and we are excited to continue this legacy."
