Yueh-Ching Chou

Professor at the Institute of Health and Social Welfare Policy, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taipei, Taiwan

Yueh-Ching Chou's research focuses on life experiences of people with intellectual disabilities and the intersection of care research and disability studies. She is actively involved in advocating for the independent living of disabled people.

Michael Fine

Honorary Professor in the Department of Sociology at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia


Michael has researched, published and taught in the fields of social policy, ageing, care and human services for over thirty years. He is currently co-leading an ARC Linkage research project on the development of an Australian Community Care Outcomes Measure (ACCOM), in collaboration with a number of leading community care providers in New South Wales.

Birgit Pfau-Effinger

Professor for Sociology of Cultural and Institutional Change, University of Hamburg, Germany

Birgit Pfau-Effinger is currently Principal Investigator of the international research project AURELIA of the French ANR. Her research mainly focuses on theorizing as well as comparative and historical analysis about cultural and institutional change in welfare states, Gender Arrangements and Gender Culture, the work-family relationship, and the changing relationship between formal, semi-formal and informal Work.

Ricardo Rodrigues

Assistant Professor at the Lisbon School of Economics and Management (ISEG), University of Lisbon, Portugal

Ricardo Rodrigues researches on comparative ageing policies, particularly inequalities in health and care and their interplay with labour market and poverty. He is currently part of the board of the Research Network on Ageing of the European Sociology Association.
